Whether it’s a routine mammogram or advanced breast treatment - getting prompt, personal answers and expert care - is paramount.  Accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, York Hospital’s Breast Care service offers quality care in a loving environment.  We utilize the latest technology to provide the highest quality of images possible.   We offer complete breast diagnostic care, including screening and diagnostic mammograms (with results provided BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR APPOINTMENT!), breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy and the area's only truly dedicated Breast MRI - the Aurora Edge.

Our team consists of Fellowship trained breast radiologists Kira Wendorf, MD and Amanda Demetri Lewis, DO, who are on-site and available to go over results within moments of your exam. You will know your results before you leave!  No more anxious waiting!  The Breast Care Center is also home to dedicated nurses and expert technologists to help you navigate through evaluation and treatment needs or to answer any questions you may have.  Our Specialized Breast Care nurses will help guide you through the process of detection, diagnosis and treatment.  They are part of our multidisciplinary team, working closely with the radiologist, primary care doctors, oncologists, surgeons and other health care professionals in your journey.  Our caring team of experts is here for you!

We are a Center of Excellence: York Hospital's Breast Care is designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). We are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. We are one of only a few Maine and New Hampshire centers designated as a Center of Excellence.
